The bass line is the truth. The truth is not right or wrong, just true. The parts written above the bass line cloud the truth.
Have some fun messing with your audience’s mind by letting them hear the truth and the Conspiracy at the same time.
Description
Conspiracy ♫ written by Rich Willey and arranged for funk band by The Amazing Wally Minko. This is a great chart for featuring your rhythm section, particularly your bassist since the main melody is in the bass line.
218 written measures, ♩ = 200, intermediate to advanced level of difficulty. The chord changes for blowing are basic functional harmony and the lead trumpet part goes up to a D above the staff. The bass part and guitar part include lots of single-note figures that require good readers or some wood-shedding. 😉
Written with solo space for bass trumpet and for EVI (which can also be played by a keyboardist on a synthesizer).
All our funk band charts have similar instrumentation, and this chart calls for:
Trumpet 1
Trumpet 2
Flugelhorn
Flute
Clarinet
Soprano Sax
Tenor Sax
Valve Trombone
Bass Trumpet
Electronic Valve Instrument (EVI)
Keyboards
Hammond B3 Organ
Electric Guitar
5-String Electric Bass
Drum Set
