Goofin’ Off ♫ written by Rich Willey and arranged for funk band by The Amazing Wally Minko (Copy)
Looking for a nice, relaxing tune that lets your audience sit back and groove without having to fasten their seat belts for a wild ride?
Goofin’ Off is just that tune. Take it easy, let your hair down, hang out somewhere between the hare and the tortoise for a few satisfying and enjoyable minutes.
Suggested price: $45.00
Description
Goofin’ Off sorta “reminisces” about a certain Top 40 tune from the ’70s as it kinda quotes the melody and even the chord changes at first. Then it goofs off in a different direction and takes you someplace else, new and different from where you were expecting to go.
179 written measures, ♩ = 100, level of difficulty is intermediate to advanced (due to the challenging nature of the chords). The solo changes require more than a glancing knowledge of chords and chord movement to negotiate convincingly during improvisations. Wally wrote a beautiful chorus-long soli for this tune which really shows off the horn section.
Written with solo space for guitar and EVI (which can also be played on a synthesizer).
