Description
Trombone Mechanisms & More is an amazing pedagogical collaboration of Donald S. Reinhardt, David Gornston and Dick Getz.
Originally published in 1946, now in print again after nearly 60 years, Donald S. Reinhardt and David Gornston’s trumpet method book is back! It’s “a streamlined school of technique designed to meet the ever-increasing instrumental demands of modern music.”
This is an intensive regimen of technical and musical studies for the ambitious brass player. The original Reinhardt/Gornston book followed by 14 advanced etudes by Dick Getz will put you through rigors you won’t find anywhere else.
Don’t let the word “mechanisms” throw you. It refers to the process of developing your technique and musicianship by focusing on many of the most difficult aspects of performance on a brass instrument. By exposing and then improving and polishing your ability to negotiate these difficult studies, you learn to play anything but “mechanically” when you are called on to perform before an audience. These pages help you set your artistic ability free by helping to remove the technical and physical challenges of playing your horn.
