Description
Gone with the Wind ♫ for Jazz Sextet arranged by Rich Willey is a nice straight-ahead arrangement of the 1937 Number 1 song made famous by Horace Heidt and His Brigadiers with Larry Cotton on vocals.
This arrangement has an opening presentation of the 32-bar melody followed by an open section for soloists. Next is a 32-bar soli section with a humorous reference to Bouncing With Bud that will elicit chuckles from the astute jazz listeners in your audience before another open solo section followed by an entirely different out-chorus presentation of the melody. Nobody gets bored with this arrangement, and your audience will be with you all the way.
94 written measures, ♩ = 200 (suggested tempo), difficulty level high intermediate to advanced which is largely dependent upon the tempo (chord changes for improvisation are easier when it’s slower), and the rhythmic acuity of your rhythm section.
Parts for Trumpet 1, Alto Sax or Tenor Sax 2, Trombone or Tenor Sax 3 and rhythm section come as a PDF that you’ll be able to download immediately upon submission of your order.
Written solos for any of our charts may be special ordered at a reasonable cost. Email us through our contact page with any and all inquiries.
