Description
Blues For Bobby ♫ written by Rich Willey and arranged for funk band by The Amazing Wally Minko. This was written specifically for the incredible Hammond B3 Organ playing of Bobby Floyd, pianist and organist from Columbus OH. Designed to groove any way you play it, we chose to do it as a straight-ahead jazz tune. Interestingly, the Conspiracy CD is the opposite of many of the 1960s Blue Note albums that had all jazz tunes and one boogaloo number: Conspiracy is all funk tunes plus one straight-ahead jazz tune. 😉
Anyway, this is a pretty easy to play blues in A♭ that will let your band groove and feature any number of soloists. 166 measures, ♩ = 130, difficulty level easy to intermediate.
Written with solo space for Hammond B3 Organ, Bass Trumpet (or Tenor Sax), Guitar . . . also quite easy to open up for more solos if you wish.
All our funk band charts have similar instrumentation, and this chart calls for:
Trumpet 1
Trumpet 2
Trumpet 3
Tenor Sax
Valve Trombone
Bass Trumpet
Keyboards
Hammond B3 Organ
Electric Guitar
5-String Electric Bass
Drum Set
This chart comes in a PDF that you’ll be able to download immediately upon submission of your order.
